Borders College Eco House Virtual Reality Project
Creating VR teaching asset
I was asked to produce a virtual reality teaching asset for Borders College that focussed on the construction of their new Eco friendly building in Hawick. The VR project required a lot of filming motion graphics and editing work throughout the production, comprising of around 150-200 hours of raw footage, 3+ hours of edited VR and HD footage incorporating motion graphics hotspots, lower thirds and multiple titles in the final delivery.

As it was primarily intended as a teaching asset, the cuts are relatively slow moving so as to ensure the relay of information effectively. Stylistically the hand held cuts were focussed on the process and skills of the work force, using motion graphics and call outs to highlight certain key parts of the build.
The project delivered comprised of 3+ hours of edited VR and HD footage using motion graphics hotspots, lower thirds and multiple titles in the final project.
“We're really pleased with the result, it looks stunning and I'm sure will become a valuable asset to our vocational courses moving forward.”
